Job summary

Abound Health in Freehold, NJ is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD.

As a DSP, you will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support, helping clients live independently. This role offers flexible schedules, weekly pay, a $1,000 signing bonus after meeting hours, and opportunities for growth within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to help individuals build independence and confidence at home, in the community, and in the workplace.
• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
