Job summary

Community Workshop and Training Center, Inc. in central Illinois is seeking a Direct Support Person to provide training and supervision to residents and maintain a clean, home-like environment.

You will assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene, meals, transportation, and coordinate medical appointments, including medication administration, while attending required trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance (if shift requires).
• Experience working with adults with disabilities is helpful.
• Must complete Direct Support Professional (DSP) classes and obtain Medication Administration authorization.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and supervision to residents and maintain a clean, home-like environment.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and self-care needs.
• Change and wash soiled linens/clothing and assist with laundry.
• Participate in activities and transport residents as needed.
• Assist residents with mobility and meals preparation.
• Keep bedrooms/bathrooms safe and sanitary, organize items, and prevent hazards.
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping.
• Perform daily facility cleaning, laundry, bed checks, and temperature checks when required.
• Administer medications and complete required paperwork accurately.
• Attend staff meetings and mandated trainings.
