Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with developmental disabilities in the Snohomish Area. Responsibilities include daily care, hygiene, nutrition, and supporting community participation.

The role requires a valid in-state driver's license, the possibility to transport clients, and adherence to DDA guidelines. Benefits include comprehensive options and 401(k) plans with Capella University discount.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum experience: personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities with challenging behaviors preferred.
• Minimum driving experience: valid in-state driver’s license and current car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to program participants that meets their needs and offers community opportunities.
• Maintains a nurturing, safe, and healthful living environment.
• Familiar with Residential Service Guidelines by the DDA.
• Provides instruction and support per each participant's IISP.
• Manages daily needs: personal hygiene, meals, housekeeping, shopping, and medication monitoring.
• Supports participants in community outings and transports when needed.
• Treats participants with dignity and safeguards their rights and decision-making.
• Interacts with participants, offers informal counseling and problem-solving.
• Attends staff meetings as required by House Manager or Administrator.
• Participates in training required by the agency and DDA.
• Contributes to development and implementation of IISP for each participant.
• Will become Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) at employee’s own expense initially and annually.
• Maintains professional relationships with families, other providers, and staff; completes documentation timely.
• Performs other duties as assigned by House Manager or Administrator.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to transport clients in own vehicle.
