Job summary

KAHAK PA INC in Cumberland/Perry County, PA is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with intellectual disabilities develop independence and life skills through personalized support and community engagement.

You will assist with ADLs, accompany clients to appointments and activities, teach budgeting and personal safety, and document ISP outcomes while maintaining safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is required.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Clearance of background check
• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as grooming, cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene.
• Support access to community activities and recreation.
• Accompany individuals to appointments, shopping, or social outings.
• Encourage skills for independence, such as budgeting and transportation use.
• Implement and document individualized support plans and ISP outcomes.
• Teach and reinforce skills for independence (cooking, budgeting, personal safety).
• Support communication and self-advocacy efforts.
• Report incidents or changes in condition to supervisor promptly.
