Job summary

Open Arms Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Knoxville, TN. Roles include supporting daily living, mobility, and participation in community activities, with a focus on dignity and independence.

Positions are part-time with second and third shifts; orientation and training are provided. A valid driver’s license, CPR and PCM certifications are required within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CPR within 30 days and PCM certification within 60 days—training provided.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on support (bathing, dressing, meals, mobility) with dignity.
• Support daily living and independence skills.
• Coach, mentor, and advocate for individuals.
• Create a safe, welcoming home environment.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and events.
• Engage clients in activities within home and community.
• Keep accurate records of progress and activities.
• Work as part of a supportive team.
