Job summary

Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join its team. You will support students with autism and related needs in daily living, safety, and therapeutic activities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Join our team at Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices, a premier provider of specialized education and therapy services for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in supporting our students in achieving their full potential for independence, productivity, and inclusion in the community.

About the Role:

As a DSP, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide direct support to our students, including:

Schedule:

3.5 hours (community habilitation services) from Monday-Thursday, any time of the day, preferably around 12pm, Friday and Saturday 3 hours a day (respite services) Anytime of day.

• Daily Living Skills: Assisting with personal care, meal planning, and other daily living activities to promote independence and self-advocacy.
• Behavioral Supports: Implementing behavioral interventions and strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and promote positive behaviors.
• Therapy Assistance: Providing support to our therapists in delivering ABA, speech, occupational, and physical therapy services.
• Communication: Facilitating communication between staff, students, and families to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each student's needs and goals.
