Waystone Health & Human Services is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional in Haverhill, MA to support individuals with daily living activities in a group home setting. The role involves personal care, medication assistance, and transportation using wheelchair vans, with a 40-hour weekly schedule and evening shifts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, MAP Certification, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• MAP Certification; training offered within 6 months of employment.
• CPR/First Aid; training offered within 3 months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming and meal prep.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities using wheelchair accessible vans.
• Complete ISP and daily logs; track behavioral data to support independence.
• Perform medication administration and maintain accurate documentation.
• Provide companionship, mentorship, and behavior redirection; ensure a clean, safe residential environment.

As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home.Location: Haverhill, MA (Group home setting)Current Openings:Full Time Schedule 40 hours per weekThis position is benefit eligible as of date of hire.Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 3:00pm - 11:00pmCompensation: These are non-exempt full-time/part-time positions. The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.Group Home Details: As a residential skills instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you will be assisting 5 individuals ranging from ages 22 and up, with their activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as - feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will use a wheelchair van to transport individuals to appointments and community activities. During the overnight hours, you will also be responsible for remaining alert and attentive, conducting routine wellness checks on individuals, and providing personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes as needed.
