Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a current valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record for a minimum of two years.
• Must be able to pass an FBI and Department of Justice background check.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 25lbs and standing for a full shift.
• Experience with people with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and engage in activities reflecting participants' preferences and goals.
• Support participants to maximize independence in all activities.
• Teach and train participants in life skills.
• Help create and organize classroom activities and community outings.
• Assist participants with lunch and snacks, including meal supervision and eating assistance.
• Assist participants with personal care and hygiene.
• Take participants on community outings using agency vehicles, personal car, and/or public transportation.
• Complete basic documentation: observation and seizure reports, case notes, data on clients’ goals and objectives, van logs, mileage/expense reports, and administrative paperwork.
• Share observations regarding participant progress or concerns with Program Coordinators.

Direct Support Professional - $21.50/hr to start with $800 Signing Bonus if Hired

Marin Ventures is growing! We are looking for another empathetic and proactive Direct Support Professional to join our team at our adult day program located in San Rafael, CA. As one of our DSPs, you’ll contribute to our upbeat environment supporting and enriching the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. We provide our program participants with opportunities to engage in all types of activities including art, music, life skills courses, exercise, and more. You are welcome to share your own interests in cooking, sewing, gardening, music, etc. Our Direct Support Professionals accompany program participants on outings in Marin County such as swimming, bowling, hikes in our local parks, exploring libraries, and other special events.

We are currently looking for DSP's at our adult day program located in San Rafael, CA 94903. Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is highly preferred but not required.

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) or any combination of similar education and experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a current valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record for a minimum of two years.

Compensation

• $21.50/hr to start
