Job description

Job Summary

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) assist clients with all activities of daily living, personal care, and program implementation. They ensure the clients’ well‑being and safety while providing adequate supervision. DSPs also assist with household maintenance, housekeeping, and various tasks to support the home.

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres – MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors, and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and age‑related or chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.

Schedule

Week 1: Wed 2 pm‑9 pm, Thurs 2 pm‑9 pm, Fri 2 pm‑9 pm, Sat 9 am‑11 pm

Week 2: Wed 2 pm‑9 pm, Thurs 2 pm‑9 pm, Fri 2 pm‑9 pm, Sat 9 am‑11 pm

Hourly Pay Rate

$18.00 per hour

Weekend differential +$2.00 per hour for hours between Fri 10 pm and Sun 10 pm

Overnight differential +$1.00 per hour for hours between 10 pm and 6 am

$12.13 per hour for sleep hours only when assigned

$1,500 retention bonus for full‑time staff, $750 for part‑time. Paid out over 1 year.

Essential Job Functions and Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists clients with daily cares, medical needs, and supports, ADLs and mental health supports.
  • Assists individuals with a daily routine, providing opportunities for choice and presenting creative options as needed. The routine includes, but is not limited to: hygiene, domestic tasks, leisure time usage, grooming, socializing, budgeting, money usage, safety and health, studying, homework completion if applicable, and community participation.
  • Plans and implements recreation, leisure, and community activities.
  • Drives to/from and accompanies clients at appointments and community activities using the company vehicle during all hours of operation.
  • Assists individuals in establishing and maintaining community relationships and facilitating friendships.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the person as unique and implements programs in accordance with the CSSP, CSSP‑A, and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan.
  • Provides person‑centered services demonstrated through practice, action, and language.
  • Maintains knowledge of the person’s history, skills, areas of vulnerability, habilitation plans, and emergency procedures.
  • Participates in the support team process; assists with developing and implementing goals.
  • Administers and documents all prescribed medication, treatments, diets, and exams as directed by the CSSP and CSSP‑A.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MORA policies and procedures.
  • Prepares meals following the planned menu for clients and completes weekly food ordering as needed or scheduled.
  • Assists with daily housekeeping and household maintenance.
  • Completes house‑quality improvement assessments and addresses identified issues as needed.
  • Ensures adequate supervision of clients, remaining on shift until a replacement arrives.
  • Works harmoniously with and shows respect to all internal and external individuals.
  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, using the primary spoken language of clients in the home.
  • Completes all mandatory training determined by MORA or 245D regulations.
  • Reads and follows company policies and procedures.
  • Remains awake at all times unless working an assigned sleeping shift.
  • Documents program data and daily log information accurately and timely.
  • Collaborates with the team to complete other duties as assigned or as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience with clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Interest in supporting clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or mental health needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status.
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must be able to meet the company’s physical job demands.
  • Must have a valid current driver’s license and vehicle insurance as required by state law.
  • Must complete a Medication Administration class with a score of 80% or greater; regularly administer medications correctly without error.
  • Must be able to use the computer in alignment with client needs and company procedures.
