Job summary

Mt Olivet Rolling Acres in Chaska, Minnesota, is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist clients in daily living activities, ensure their safety and well-being, and help them engage in community activities. Job Summary

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) assist clients with all the activities of daily living, personal cares, and program implementation. They are responsible for the daily well‑being and safety of clients, ensuring suitable supervision. DSP also assist with household maintenance and housekeeping, supporting daily tasks at the client’s residence.

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors, and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and age‑related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro. MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost‑effective services for adults and children.

Schedule
  • Week 1: Wed 3pm-10pm, Thurs 3pm-10pm, Fri 3pm-10pm, Sat 8am-10pm
  • Week 2: Wed 3pm-10pm, Thurs 3pm-10pm, Fri 3pm-10pm
Hourly Pay Rate
  • $18.00 per hour, with Friday 10pm–Sunday 10pm weekend differential +$2.00 per hour
  • Overnight differential +$1.00 per hour from 10pm to 6am
  • When assigned to sleep hours only: $12.13 per hour
Retention Bonus

$1,500 retention bonus for full‑time staff, $750 for part‑time staff, paid out over 1 year.

Essential Job Functions and Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily care, medical needs, and supports, ADLs and mental health supports.
  • Assist individuals with daily routines, providing opportunities for choice and presenting creative options as needed, including hygiene, domestic tasks, leisure time, grooming, socializing, budgeting, safety, studying, homework, and community participation.
  • Plan and implement recreation, leisure and community activities.
  • Drive to/from and accompany clients at appointments and community activities using a company vehicle during all hours of operation.
  • Assist individuals in establishing and maintaining community relationships and facilitating friendships.
  • Demonstrate understanding of each person as a unique individual and implement programs in accordance with the Coordinated Service and Support Plan (CSSP), CSSP‑Addendum (CSSP‑A), and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan.
  • Provide person‑centered services demonstrated through practice, action, and language.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the person’s history, skills, vulnerabilities, habilitation plans, and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in the support team process and assist in developing and implementing goals.
  • Administer and document all prescribed medication, treatments, diets, and exams as directed by CSSP and CSSP‑A.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MORA policies and procedures.
  • Prepare meals following the planned menu and complete weekly food ordering as needed.
  • Assist with daily housekeeping and household maintenance.
  • Complete house quality improvement assessments and address identified issues as needed.
  • Ensure adequate supervision of clients, remaining on shift until a replacement employee arrives.
  • Work harmoniously and show respect to all internal and external individuals.
  • Communicate effectively with others at work verbally and in writing, using the primary spoken language of clients.
  • Complete all mandatory training as determined by MORA or 245D regulations.
  • Read and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Remain awake at all times unless working an assigned sleeping shift.
  • Document program data and daily log information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the team to complete other duties as assigned or needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience with clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Interest in supporting clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or mental health needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status.
  • Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must be able to successfully meet the company’s physical job demands.
  • Must have a valid current driver’s license and vehicle insurance as required by state law.
  • Successful completion of Medication Administration class with a score of 80% or greater; regularly pass medication administration using correct procedure without error.
  • Ability to use the computer and do so in alignment with client needs and company procedures.
