Job summary

Delta-T Group North Jersey, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide support and instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a Residential program in White Plains, NY.

The role is offered as an independent contractor at starting pay of $18 per hour. You will promote growth, assist with daily activities, medications as needed, and help maintain a climate of normalization and respect.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to pass mandated clearances.
• Comfortable toileting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
• Design activities to foster growth to each individual's highest level of accomplishment.
• Deliver care in a climate of normalization, care and concern.
• Assist consumers with daily nutrition and medications as needed.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

• Promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth.
• Ensure all activities are designed to foster growth to each individual's highest level of accomplishment.
• Ensure all care and services are delivered in a climate of normalization, care and concern.
• Assist Consumers with daily nutrition and their medications (as needed)
• Transport Consumers to appointments (as needed)

CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Valid Driver's License (not required but helpful)
• Ability to complete and pass mandated clearances.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be comfortable toileting.

• TB (Tuberculosis)
• SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention) not required but helpful.
• AMAP(Approved Medication Administration Personnel) not required but helpful.
