Job summary

Serenity, LLC in New Jersey seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to adults with IDD in homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living skills, transportation, and documentation, while promoting independence and person-centered goals. Competitive pay, flexible shifts, and training are offered to help you grow with Serenity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
• Ability to pass background checks and DDD screenings.
• Smartphone or computer access for documentation.
• Experience with individuals with I/DD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with IDD in homes and communities, promoting independence.
• Assist with daily living activities, appointments, and errands.
• Teach cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping skills.
• Provide personal care and medication reminders as authorized.
• Provide safe transportation to activities and services.
• Document services with timely notes and required paperwork.
• Support dignity, choice, and self-advocacy.

Full-Time | Part-Time | Per Diem
$21.50–$26.50 per hour

Serenity is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities

• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping

• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized

• Provide safe transportation

• Follow individualized service plans and person-centered goals

• Complete timely service notes and required documentation

• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-advocacy

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• At least 18 years old

• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle

• Ability to pass required background checks and DDD screenings

• Smartphone or computer access for documentation

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently

• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid training will be provided if needed.
