Job summary

Community Services Group (CSG) is seeking Direct Support Professionals to build relationships with adults with IDD and provide support in homes and community settings. Roles include assisting with daily living activities, communication, and community integration to promote well-being.

Positions include various shifts (FT/PT/ Flexible) across multiple locations (Columbia, Lancaster, Leola, Lititz, Manheim, Millersville, Willow Street).

Qualifications

• 18 or older for Community Home Services.
• Day Program requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to accompany those you serve into the community and provide support and assistance in interactions.
• Valid driver's license and the willingness to transport people in personal or CSG vehicles.
• Willingness and ability to work in and travel to an identified group of community homes.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships where those we support live, work, or in a community setting, to promote emotional, physical and personal well-being.
• Assist adults in developing life skills such as cooking, housekeeping, money management, personal hygiene.
• Support individuals' preferences and ensure their interests are honored.
• Help individuals pursue opportunities to experience life in their homes and communities.
• Provide guidance and role modeling to help individuals become more independent.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with family members and other service providers; participate in meetings.
• Assist with arranging medical care and following health recommendations including dietary guidelines.
• Conduct fire drills and manage emergencies; provide coverage as needed.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will build relationships with adults with an intellectual and/or developmental disability and provide support to them where they live and work as well as in other community settings. DSPs provide assistance with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, bathing, and getting dressed, to working on communication and social skills, or finding and maintaining employment. The scope of work is determined by the needs and desires of the individual you are supporting in order to promote emotional, physical and personal well-being.

IDD Community Home Services

• Shifts: Full-Time, Part-Time & Flexible schedules - All shifts including weekend hours.
• Wage Information: Base rate of pay $17/hr. with the potential to earn up to $21/hr. depending on location and shift.
• Locations: Columbia, Lancaster, Leola, Lititz, Manheim, Millersville, & Willow Street

ASD Community Home Services

• Shifts: Full-Time - sleep overnight, Part-Time - 1st, 2nd shift weekend positions.
• Wage Information: Base rate of pay $17/hr. with the potential to earn up to $21/hr. depending on location and shift.
• Locations: Lancaster & Lititz

Day Program

• Shifts: FT 40 hours per week, 1st shift, no weekends or holidays.
• Wage Information: Starting wage $17 per hour with increase possible based on relevant IDD experience.
• Location: Lancaster

CSG's IDD/ASD Services is excited to offer a 2 week paid orientation for this position. Orientation includes the necessary foundational training needed before providing services in the programs and sets you up for a successful career at CSG. Orientation is held in-person at our Mountville office. Mileage reimbursement is provided for orientation related travel.

Job Description

• Develop relationships where those we support live, work, or in a community setting, in order to promote and ensure their emotional, physical and personal well-being.
• Assist adults in the development of appropriate life skills necessary to reach their highest level of potential including interaction with others, cooking, housekeeping, money management, personal hygiene, and other skills in appropriate settings.
• Support the individuals' preferences and ensure their interests are honored.
• Actively search for opportunities for those you serve to experience life in their homes and communities based on their hobbies and interests utilizing community resources to promote community integration, independence, and Interdependence.
• Help individuals reach their goals to be more independent by offering guidance, instruction, and role modeling.
• Completes all required documentation including electronic health record in an accurate, timely, and professional manner.
• Collaborates and cooperates with involved agencies, family members, and other service providers; participates in meetings and provides relevant information.
• Provides support and assistance to individuals in arranging for medical care when responsible to do so and follow health care recommendations including individuals to follow all dietary guidelines as recommended.
• Conducts fire drills, manages emergency situations during assigned work shifts, and provides coverage in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Community Home Services: 18 or older.
• Day Pr gram: 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or equivalency.

All Services/Programs

• Willingness to accompany those you serve into the community and provide support and assistance in interactions while maintaining sensitivity to the civil and human rights and dignity of the individual.
• Valid driver's license and the willingness to transport people in personal or CSG vehicles, including passenger vans.
• Willingness and ability to work in and travel to an identified group of community homes.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
