Job summary

United and Empowered is hiring caregivers for daytime support, residential, and community engagement roles in Hampton, VA. Earn $15–$16 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package and a sign-on bonus.

Shifts include regular daytime hours and potential evenings/weekends; responsibilities include assisting with daily care, following behavioral plans, and documenting progress with individuals who have intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Criminal history and central registry background investigations required.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist intellectually disabled individuals with care, guidance, and supervision in day support, residential, and community settings.
• Support individuals to develop acceptable habits and attitudes; help meet outcomes of service or behavioral plans.
• Ensure daily needs and health and safety of the individual are met.
• Assist individuals with daily hygiene and personal living skills.
• Complete data collection per person-centered plan.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to unpredictable behavior and circumstances.
• Other duties as required.

AVAILABLE PROGRAM POSITIONS:

RESIDENTIAL, Day Support & Community Engagement: $15.00 - $16.00/Hour (Depending on shift and experience)

Available shifts:

• 8am - 5pm Mon-Fri & Every other weekend
• 3pm - 9 pm Mon-Fri & Every other weekend
• 7am - 7pm / 7pm - 7am Mon-Fri & Every other weekend
• 8am - 8pm / 8pm - 8am Mon-Fri & Every other weekend

Typical Day:

• Responsible for assisting with the physical care, guidance, and supervision of Intellectually Disabled individuals in the Day support, Residential setting, and Community.
• Performs activities and duties to help individuals develop acceptable habits and attitudes;
• Helps the individuals meet the outcomes of any service or behavioral plan;
• Ensures daily needs and health and safety of the individual are met;
• Assist individuals with daily hygiene and personal living skills;
• Complete data collection in accordance with the person-centered plan;
• Responds quickly and appropriately to unpredictable behavior and circumstances.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements:

• Have a high school diploma, or GED, or 2 years of documented experience working with a family member, a friend, or other persons with intellectual disabilities in a nursing home, facility, group home or in home setting.
