Job summary

St. John’s Community Services in Newark, Delaware is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist individuals with disabilities in developing daily living skills and community participation.

This part-time role requires at least a high school diploma, experience preferred, and a valid driver's license. You will supervise, administer medications per procedures, and help with transportation and daily activities to support independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year related experience preferred.
• Valid health certificate and background checks per jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to persons served to support social wellbeing, health and safety.
• Administer medication to persons served per medication administration procedures.
• Assist persons served to take public transportation or secure transport to access community resources; help plan daily activities.
• Document supports provided including progress toward skill acquisition, health matters, choices, achievements and challenges.
• Attend and participate in mandated events, workshops, training, investigations and meetings.
• Ensure responsible usage of agency resources, e.g. vehicles and property.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
