Job summary

Arc of Onondaga is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide Community Habilitation services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. The role involves helping individuals build independence, life skills, and community connections through personalized support.

Positions are part-time or relief, with a focus on flexible scheduling. You will work one-on-one or in small groups, promoting inclusion and meaningful activities in the local community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid New York State driver's license required.
• Reliable personal vehicle available for use during service hours.

What You'll Do

As a Community Habilitation DSP, you will work one-on-one or in small groups to support individuals in achieving their personal goals and increasing their independence.

Activities May Include

• Assisting with community errands and appointments
• Encouraging healthy lifestyles through outdoor exercise and recreation
• Teaching budgeting and financial management skills
• Supporting participation in leisure and social activitiesAssisting with volunteer and community engagement opportunities
• Promoting self-confidence, decision-making, and relationship-building
• Helping individuals learn and practice daily living skills
