Job summary

NeuSpark PDS in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with daily living, health, safety, and community participation. This in-person role supports residents across multiple neighborhoods and requires compassion, reliability, and teamwork.

Shifts include Day, Evening, and Overnight; paid training provided, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 403(b), transit, parking, and generous PTO/13 holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience performing related duties preferred.
• Training provided upon hire as needed.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 18+; proficient computer and writing; teamwork; organization; strong communication; NYS driver's license required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic training in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including toileting, bathing, and eating.
• Suggest additional training.
• Address all developmental needs including behavior, communication, nutrition, medical care, and socialization.
• Maintain cleanliness of residence and program areas.
• Assist with meals and related cleanup.
• Encourage community integration and relationships with housemates and staff.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in a PDS approved vehicle.
• Document medication administration per AMAP training and doctor’s orders.
• Notify nurse/management of changes in medication or health.
• Report injuries and incidents to management immediately.
• Intervene to protect individuals when needed.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain required certifications.
• Residential duties: housekeeping and meal planning/preparation support.
• Maintain confidentiality and safety practices; comply with policies.
