Job summary

Catholic Charities of St. Cloud is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist residents in eight group homes in Central Minnesota. You will support daily living activities, lead recreational outings, and help with personal cares while following individual treatment plans.

This role requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. You’ll join a compassionate team in a nonprofit setting that emphasizes dignity, respect, and service, with shift options including days, evenings,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide quality of life support through recreational activities and community outings.
• Assist with personal cares (hygiene, dressing, meal prep).
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment (laundry, cleanliness, walkways).
• Provide client behavior support per Treatment Plans and develop therapeutic relationships.
• Administer medications as directed by nursing staff and document accurately.
• Ensure effective communication and daily charting of client logs.
• Be punctual and complete tasks by end of shift.
• Complete required training by deadlines.

• As a Direct Support Professional, you will work in one of our 8 residential community based group homes. As a Direct Support Professional, you will increase clients’ quality of life through recreational activities, community outings, leisure activities, reading to clients, playing games, etc.
• Assist with personal cares (showering, toileting, hygiene, getting ready for the day, meal prep, etc.)
• Maintain a safe and clean home environment (assisting with laundry, cleanliness of living areas, ensure safe walkways/sidewalks, etc.)
• Provide client behavior assistance, support and behavior modification according to the client Treatment Plans.
• Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients.
• Provide medication administration to clients as directed by nursing staff and the treatment plan, as well as observe and keep accurate documentation.
• Ensure effective communication and documentation. Conduct daily review of client communication logs and complete charting.
• Be on time and ready to work. Maintain a steady pace at work and ensure tasks are completed by the end of your shift.
• Complete required training by established deadline.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Strongly prefer candidates with at least nine months of job-related experience in a group home setting
• Skills & Traits: “Can-do” attitude, team player, compassionate, respectful, patient, reliable, adaptable, and strong communication skills
• Minimum Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and an insured vehicle, and ability to pass a driver's license and background check

We have a variety of shifts available to best meet your needs, including days, evenings, overnight shifts and weekends.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that all DSP shifts are designated as AWAKE shifts, irrespective of whether they occur during the day, evening or overnight hours.

How Many Hours Would You Like to Work Per Week?

An employee’s hours per week may vary based on their availability. Shifts are 8+ hours in length. Generally, employees work between 16 and 40 hours per week. If employees prefer to work only weekends due to other employment, we can generally accommodate that, too.
