Job summary

Developmental Connections is seeking a Direct Support Professional to mentor and support individuals, helping them learn skills for successful home and community living.

You will document ISP outcomes, support safety practices, and assist with daily logs and transportation as needed while promoting community connections and participation in ISP and Self Government meetings.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education level.
• 18 years or older.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Blood Borne Pathogens, Medication Administration,
• Systematic Instruction Strategies, Abuse/Neglect, HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Positive Behavior
• training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Class E driver's License.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification (if required).
• Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug test.
• Must pass a background check including criminal record and driving record.
• Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
• Preferred: Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.

Regularly required to talk or hear.

Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; this may be more with certain types of work

assignments.
