Job summary

Butterfly Home Care is seeking a Male Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home and community-based support in Herndon, VA. You will assist individuals with developmental disabilities, help with ADLs, and support them in pursuing individualized goals.

The role emphasizes safe, compassionate care, effective communication with families and team members, and adherence to state regulations. A valid driver's license and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Pass criminal background checks and any state-required screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
• Assist with ADLs, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support clients in achieving individualized goals outlined in their service plans.
• Accompany clients to community outings, recreational activities, appointments, and social events.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills, communication skills, and community integration.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment.
• Complete accurate daily documentation, progress notes, and required reports.
• Communicate effectively with families and agency team members.
• Follow agency policies, procedures, and state regulations.

Butterfly Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Male Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) Caregivers to provide in-home and community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Herndon, VA location.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

• Assist and support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
