Kindly Direct Care is seeking a caring Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Bergen County. This role focuses on companionship, community involvement, and fostering greater independence.

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, dependable, and able to work the posted schedule. A vehicle is required to access community activities and appointments.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient, dependable and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• Vehicle Required.
• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to a 51-year-old man who is blind with limited verbal communication.
• Help the individual participate in community outings and activities.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering and social opportunities.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making and life skills.
