Job summary

YKHC Bethel is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct support to a person with developmental disabilities, coordinate village-based services, and help the individual access community resources.

The role emphasizes collaboration with family, Traditional Council, and local agencies to promote safety, self-sufficiency, and well-being.

This part-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to health services in rural southwest Alaska as part of a tribal health organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in special education, child/family health and development, counseling and/or community development preferred.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience with consumers with special needs, IDD, co-occurring disorders, developmentally delayed, or substance abuse.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license or ability to obtain one; TB clearance; CPR and First Aid.
• Office equipment handling including photocopy, fax, shredder, laminator; ability to fill and proofread documents.
• Excellent human relations skills and written communication.
