RHD is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Behavioral Health Residential program in Delaware. Join a mission-driven nonprofit that supports individuals to live independently and with dignity.

The role emphasizes training, support, and opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative team. You’ll work across shifts in a residential and community-based environment, performing daily living assistance, skill-building, and crisis intervention within agency guidelines.

Qualifications

• Compassionate demeanor suitable for behavioral health settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
• Understand and adhere to organizational policies and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including hygiene, meals, and routines.
• Support development of independent living skills and personal responsibility.
• Assist with medication routines per agency policies.
• Encourage participation in community, recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Help individuals build relationships and community connections.
• Provide guidance and positive role modeling to promote confidence and independence.
• Monitor for crisis signs and respond using approved interventions.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment and observe changes in health.
• Document accurately and timely per agency standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with supervisors, nurses, clinicians, and family members.
