The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges; those who have experienced trauma; and those at risk. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional - 24 HC to join our team.

Work Schedule

Sun 8a-8p; Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 3-10p

Responsibilities

• Implement client’s Individualized Strategies under the guidance of a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional.
• Document daily services including recreation, leisure, and daily living activities.
• Ensure client rights, dignity, and privacy while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Work with clients exhibiting maladaptive behaviors such as aggression, property destruction, or elopement.
• Provide intensive care when required, including toileting, bathing, special diets, and feeding.
• Work across various sites as needed, based on program requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• CNA or Autism Certificate preferred
• Experience with developmentally disabled adults preferred
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and access to personal vehicle
• Ability to pass S-TOFHLA literacy test and complete required training

Additional Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Availability for evening, weekend, overnight, and holiday hours
• Ability to use computer and adaptive equipment
