RHA Health Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional for the 1st shift in Walnut Creek, CA. The DSP helps individuals with disabilities engage in the community, supports person-centered goals, and fosters independence with compassionate care.

The role involves assisting with daily living activities, transportation, and community involvement, with strict adherence to privacy and regulatory guidelines. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Complete pre-employment screening.
• Compassionate and patient with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of disability rights and community integration principles.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulations.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals’ human, legal, and civil rights.
• Promote health and safety by supporting wellness initiatives and accident prevention.
• Encourage self-advocacy and empower individuals in making their own choices.
• Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work, recreation, and social events.
• Teach and support independent living skills, including household management and personal care.
• Provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of provided services and support.
• Assist with medication administration in accordance with state laws.
