Job summary

Whole Life is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Stratford, CT. The role focuses on assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and facilitating community engagement within group homes.

The position offers part-time hours with benefits, including dental and health insurance, paid orientation, paid time off, paid training, and 401K contributions. Weekly hours range from 20 to 28, with a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• High School diploma (or equivalent).
• 1+ year experience in group homes, assisted living, or direct support preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Experience with developmental disabilities, autism, TBI, Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment with proper techniques (e.g., Hoyer lifts).
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Implement individualized care plans.

Direct Support Professional

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in group homes. In this rewarding role, you will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and facilitate community engagement to enhance quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
