Job summary

REM Community Services, part of the Sevita family, is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Waterloo, IA. This full-time role includes on-demand pay and comprehensive benefits, with a starting pay of $15.25 per hour.

You will empower individuals, build connections, and help participants engage with their communities while delivering high-quality care. Requirements: 18+, HS diploma, access to a registered vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have access to a registered vehicle during all shifts to transport individuals.
• Auto insurance: must be able to provide proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Empower individuals to achieve personal and developmental goals across budgeting, nutrition, community involvement, and recreation.
• Build meaningful connections and act as a trusted mentor, advocate, and friend.
• Take initiative and make a difference daily with support from leaders.
• Champion inclusion by helping people access communities, attend events, and pursue activities.
• Support daily living tasks including meal prep, medication assistance, personal care, and outings.
• Assist with general daily living skills and support individuals with personal hygiene and any behavioral or complex needs.

• Show your community compassion and Patience: In addition to assisting in general Daily Living Skills, some of our exceptional individuals will also need help with personal hygiene. Some individuals may also have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
