Job summary

Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks Direct Service Professionals for our Group Home OPWDD Residential Services in Babylon, NY. You will support residents with transportation, care, and daily living tasks, helping them lead dignified lives in our inclusive community.

Position is full-time in-person evenings with on-call opportunities. The Base Rate of Pay is $21 per hour, with a weekend differential of $1 extra per hour. Actual pay may vary by qualifications, location, and experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• Ability to perform tasks involving stooping, crouching, and 2-person lifting up to 250 pounds.
• Ability to stay calm during an individual's physical or emotional outburst.

Responsibilities

• Transport/safeguard residents on outings.
• Coach residents in skills development & administer medications.
• Provide person-centered care including personal care as needed.
• Perform household maintenance tasks, including meal preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Transport/safeguard residents on outings
• Coach residents in skills development & administer medications

Qualifications:

• A HS diploma/GED
• Valid NYS Driver’s License

• Ability to maintain personal safety and respond appropriately in a calm, non-confrontational manner during an individual's physical or emotional outburst.

Schedule:

Full-time evening, and On Call opportunities available. Typical staffing needs include:

• Evenings – (2p-10p, Sun-Thurs)
  

Base Rate of Pay: $21. per hour (Weekend differential pay is an additional $1.00/hr.)
