Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Salisbury, NC to help individuals with IDD complete daily tasks and reach personal goals. You will provide in-home and community-based support, including personal care, housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation.

This part-time role offers flexible weekday/evening/weekend hours, paid training, and opportunities for growth. A HS diploma or GED and reliable transportation are required to apply.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal skills and dependability are essential.
• Proficient with EHR systems or able to learn quickly.
• Reliable transportation with current auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide home and community-based care for individuals with IDD.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, and cleaning; personal care as needed; employment support.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize daily schedules.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part time hours: flexible for weekdays, evenings, and weekends *BILINGUAL A PLUS*

Location: Salisbury, NC

Compensation: $12-18/hr

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
