Job summary

New Horizons in Autism, Inc. (NHIA) seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to support adults with autism in a residential setting. Join a nonprofit dedicated to improving quality of life through person-centered care and meaningful daily activities.

Responsibilities include direct care, medication documentation, life skills coaching, and transport to appointments. Training is provided; growth opportunities exist within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher degree (diploma or transcripts required)
• Must be at least 20 years of age
• Valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver's license
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism
• Must complete all pre-employment requirements (CR, CARI, DMV Check, Drug Screening, Physical Examination, PPD Testing)

• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and documenting medications
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities

About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll play a vital role in supporting adults with autism in a residential home setting.
