New Horizons in Autism, Inc. (NHIA) is hiring a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with autism in a residential setting across Bergen, Monmouth and Ocean Counties, NJ.

You will support residents to build independence, confidence and life skills while ensuring health, safety and well-being. We offer comprehensive training, opportunities for advancement, and a strong commitment to compassionate care in a nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher
• Must be at least 20 years of age
• Valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver's license
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including: Central Registry, CARI, DMV Check, Drug Screening, Physical Examination, PPD Testing

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and documenting medications
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living and life skills
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities

About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll play a vital role in supporting adults with autism in a residential home setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Providing direct care and supervision in a residential home
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
• Administering and documenting medications

• Completing required documentation accurately and professionally
• Supporting the overall day-to-day operation of the residence

Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour
