Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily living activities and to help them achieve personal goals.

You will document progress, support community participation, and maintain a safe environment in this compassionate role. CPR/FA certification, NCI/CPI training, a high school diploma or GED, and an active driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• CPR/FA certification is required or current.
• NCI/CPI training completed or in progress.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal hygiene and meal prep.
• May transport clients to and from community activities.
• Support individuals in achieving developmental goals and fostering independence.
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings.
• Document observations and progress toward goals and maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal prep, and household chores
• May transport clients to and from community activities
• Support individual in achieving their developmental goals and fostering independence
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings and social activities
• Responsible for documenting observations and progress on specific goals and ensuring a safe environment for client

Requirements

• NCI/CPI Training
• CPR/FA
• High school diploma or GED required
• TB screening
• Active driver’s license
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
