Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Madison, NC. You will help with daily living activities, transportation to activities, and documentation of progress toward personal goals.

The role emphasizes communication, safety, and fostering independence while providing companionship and support within a healthcare-focused team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR/FA certification required.
• NCI/CPI training is preferred.
• TB screening is required.
• Active driver's license is required.
• Excellent communication skills and English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal prep, and household chores.
• May transport clients to and from community activities.
• Support individuals in achieving developmental goals and fostering independence.
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings and social activities.
• Document observations and progress on goals and ensure a safe environment for clients.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
