Job summary

SPIN is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Philadelphia, PA. This part-time role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, developing personalized care plans, and promoting community integration.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support goals and maintain progress documentation, while fostering autonomy and social engagement. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a related field.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be available to attend training 2.5 weeks 8am-5pm.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance with daily living activities and personal care.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals via skill-building and community engagement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of progress and changes in needs or behavior.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to create and update support plans.
• Facilitate social interactions and community involvement to promote inclusion.

About the Role:

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support and assistance. This position focuses on fostering independence and promoting community integration for people we support, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and opportunities. The DSP will work closely with people to develop and implement individualized care plans that address their unique needs and goals. By building trusting relationships, the DSP will empower people to make choices and engage in meaningful activities. Ultimately, the DSP's efforts contribute to a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and enhances overall well‑being.

The tools you need

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a related field.
