Job summary

Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP). Role includes personal assistance with grooming, dressing, feeding, mobility; community integration; supervision and interaction;

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Compassion and patience in caring for individuals with IDD.
• Effective communication with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and midnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Personal assistance with grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
• Support with community integration and participation in activities.
• Provide supervision and interaction to ensure safety and well-being.
• Occasionally provide transportation to appointments or activities.
• Adhere to all agency and state regulations, policies, and guidelines.

Position Overview: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Role

• Personal Assistance: Helping with daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
• Community Integration: Supporting individuals in social, recreational, and leisure activities in the community.
• Supervision & Interaction: Constant supervision and interaction with participants, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Transportation: Occasionally providing transportation to appointments or activities as coordinated by the Site Supervisor.
• Compliance: Adhering to all agency and state regulations, policies, and guidelines while providing care.

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience: Preferred but not required; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Compassion & Patience: A strong desire to work with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and midnight shifts as needed.

Work Schedule

• Availability: This position requires availability for weekends, nights, and midnight shifts.
