Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, competitive hourly pay up to $15.68, and a pathway to a meaningful career in home care.

You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meals, transport, and medication self-administration support, while reporting changes in a member's condition. A compassionate, reliable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; 1 year in-home care experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Able to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized.
• Comfortable using an electronic device.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities
