Job summary

A leading in-home care agency in Pennsylvania seeks a compassionate female Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities include helping clients with daily activities, supervising meal preparations, and ensuring safety. Ideal candidates are empathetic, possess strong communication skills, and have at least two years of experience with disabilities. The role requires reliable transportation and a current TB test. Qualifications

• 2 years' experience with disabilities preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must pass current Tuberculosis (PPD) Test.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist client in preparing meals.
• Assist with all ADLs, including bathing and dressing.
• Engage with client as needed.
• Ensure client's safety through frequent checks.
• Assist with light housekeeping.
• Help client achieve personal goals.

Homewatch Caregivers® is a non-medical, in-home care agency. We provide unique care to adults of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in the comfort and safety of their preferred residence. We are currently seeking a female DSP who is kind, compassionate, and has experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Those with intellectual disabilities may struggle to recognize and/or express their needs and emotions, causing them to become agitated. An empathetic, patient individual with an open mind and strong communication skills would be an ideal fit for this population.

HOURS NEEDED MONDAY-FRIDAY 8a-2p

Responsibilities/Job Duties

• Supervise and assist client in safely preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.
• Assist with all ADLs, including bathing, dressing, toileting (incontinence care), brushing teeth etc.
• Interact and engage with client as much as he will allow
• Make frequent checks to ensure safety
• Assist with light housekeeping
• Help client identify and achieve various goals
