Job summary

Systems Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join Supported Community Living in Williamsburg on a part-time basis. You will assist people with disabilities to live more independently by supporting daily living activities and personal goals.

The role involves community outings, documentation, and working with a diverse team to provide comprehensive supports. Benefits include retirement plan, health insurance, and paid time off for eligible staff.

Responsibilities

• Help people served live more independently by working with them to achieve personal goals.
• Assist with day-to-day needs (transportation, cleaning, bathing, meals, appointments).
• Accompany people to community activities (Shopping, Special Olympics, movies).
• Provide encouragement to develop daily living skills and healthy habits.
• Write documentation about the support provided during your shift.
• Work with medical, behavioral, and mental health supports.

Key Responsibilities

As a DSP, you will join a team of others who support people with disabilities in their homes by providing:

• Assistance to allow people served to live more independently and happily in their homes by working with them to achieve their personal goals, e.g., healthy eating, exercising, or doing fun activities in their home
• Assist with day-to-day needs (transportation, cleaning, bathing, preparing meals, medical appointments, etc.)
• Go with people served in the community to do activities (Shopping, Special Olympics, movies, etc.)
• Provide encouragement and coaching to people who are working to develop daily living skills & healthy habits
• Write documentation about the support you provided during your shift
• Work with a variety of needs including medical, behavioral, and mental health supports.

Requirements

Driving record that is acceptable is preferred. People with a passion to help others encouraged to apply, we will provide the training and classes needed to provide excellent services.
