Job summary

Camp Red Cedar seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in daily living activities and community engagement. You will follow individualized care plans, document progress, and collaborate with a supportive team and families to empower clients to reach their full potential.

We value compassion, reliability, and strong communication. A high school diploma is preferred, and driving may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; caregiving experience preferred.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards individuals with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and assist with mobility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Support clients in developing independence and life skills through personalized training and encouragement.
• Monitor and document clients’ progress, behaviors, and health status accurately.

• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering social engagement and community participation.
• Follow all safety protocols and adhere to agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in caregiving or human services preferred
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards individuals with diverse needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation may be required
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and lift or assist with mobility as needed
