Job summary

Benchmark Human Services in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in daily living activities and community integration. You will be part of Camp Red Cedar, providing compassionate, patient care and promoting independence.

You will implement individualized care plans, document progress, and collaborate with a team and families to create a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; caregiving experience preferred.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful attitude toward diverse needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation may be required.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and assist with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Support clients in developing independence and life skills through personalized training and encouragement.
• Monitor and document clients' progress, behaviors, and health status accurately.
