Job summary

Sunrise Community, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support professional to provide supervision and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The role focuses on enabling valued lives in the community and delivering person-centered assistance aligned with individual plans. Responsibilities include ensuring health, safety, and well‑being, documenting progress and maintaining appropriate training and support programs in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Driver’s License with endorsements and at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required by work location.
• Minimum one year of experience in the human service field is required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report any suspected abuse or violations of an individual’s rights.
• Provide support, assistance and supervision to meet the needs and goals of the individuals according to their plans.
• Ensure that training, behavior and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the health, safety and well-being of the individuals.
• Provide a positive environment that promotes independence and choice.
• Follow positioning schedules and use proper equipment and devices per plan.
• Assist with appropriate diet, texture and equipment.
• Maintain homes, outdoor areas and vehicles in good condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

To provide support, assistance and supervision to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to live valued lives in the community.

• Successfully complete required pre‑employment background and drug screenings.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License with all necessary endorsements and a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Basic computer skills.

• Minimum one year of experience working in the human service field (required by work location).

• Ensure all homes, outside areas and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
