Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Tennessee is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, and support daily living activities in clients' homes.

This position offers flexible hours and opportunities to learn the fundamentals of quality home care, with daily & weekly pay options, travel reimbursement, and direct deposit to support your cash flow and work-life balance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with insurance.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills and organized work habits.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments and daily errands.
• Assist with self-administration of medications (no administering).
• Observe and report changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
