Job summary

Sunrise Community of Iowa, Inc. seeks compassionate Direct Support professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living valued lives in the community.

Responsibilities include supportive supervision, following individualized plans, and ensuring safety and well-being. Qualifications include pre-employment screenings, a valid driver's license, basic computer skills, and a HS diploma.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license per company standards.
• Basic computer skills needed for daily tasks.
• High School Diploma or equivalent may be required by work location.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in human service field may be required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report any suspected abuse or rights violations.
• Provide support, assistance and supervision to meet individuals' goals.
• Ensure training, behavior, and support plans are implemented and documented per regulations.
• Protect health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Create a positive environment promoting independence and choice.
• Follow positioning schedules and use equipment per plan.
