Job summary

Sunrise Community of South Carolina, Inc. is seeking Direct Support staff to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community and in our facilities. The role emphasizes safety, independence, and person-centered planning.

Responsibilities include supervision, documentation, and adherence to regulatory requirements. A valid drivers license, basic computer skills, and pre-employment screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings.
• Valid Driver's License with necessary endorsements and three years of driving experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and reports abuse or violations of an individuals rights.
• Provides support and supervision to meet the needs and goals of the individuals according to their plans.
• Ensures training and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Maintains health, safety and well-being of the individuals at all times.
• Follows positioning schedules and uses equipment per plan.
• Provides necessary level of assistance for appropriate diet, texture and equipment.
• Maintains homes, outside areas and vehicles in good condition.
