Job summary

SAMOHT FOUNDATION INC. seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, in home and community settings. This role emphasizes person-centered care, independence and daily living support.

Both full-time and part-time positions are available with flexible scheduling. DSPs will help with daily activities, medication support, meal prep, transportation, and documentation while maintaining safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience with adults with developmental disabilities and/or autism preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to problem-solve and stay calm under pressure.
• CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• IHSS provider experience or certification preferred.
• Valid driver license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Comfort with assisting personal care tasks.
• Reliable with strong attendance and punctuality.
• Able to follow directions and accept feedback.
• Comfortable working independently in a client's home.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities (bathing, toileting, dressing, hygiene).
• Support medication management (per training).
• Prepare meals and assist with grocery planning.
• Provide community support and accompany to outings or day programs.
• Assist with transportation and medical appointments.
• Complete daily documentation and reports.
• Use de-escalation and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Engage individuals in meaningful daily activities.
• Communicate with team, supervisors, and families.
• Maintain professionalism in home and community settings.
• Follow all company policies, including attendance and documentation.

This position focuses on providing person-centered care, promoting independence, and supporting individuals in both home and community settings. Full-Time and part-time positions available with flexible scheduling.
