Job Summary
We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of adults with autism and/or intellectual disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, administering medication, behavior de‑escalation and other tasks that improve the client’s living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene needs and dressing
- De‑escalate behaviors
- Light documentation
- Transportation to appointments and community outings
- Prepare meals and snacks
- Light housekeeping activities
- Administer medication
- Provide companionship
- Assist with errands and shopping
Qualifications
- Driver’s License Required
- Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional, Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
- First aid and CPR‑certified Preferred
- ODP Medication Administration Training Preferred
- ODP/Relias/Related trainings or coursework Preferred
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
