Job summary

Appalachian Parent Association Inc. is seeking caregivers to provide compassionate, individualized support to residents with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

You will help with daily living activities, skill development, and community integration in a safe environment. The role involves documenting progress and incidents, maintaining confidentiality, and coordinating with staff, families, and medical teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program staff, case managers, and families; participate in trainings and meetings.

Daily Living Supports:• Help individuals develop and maintain skills for daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and personal care.• Support individuals in developing daily living skills, such as cooking, communication, and hygiene.2. Skill Development and Advocacy:• Accompany participants on group outings to promote community integration.• Provide transportation, if applicable, ensuring safety during trips.3. Documentation:• Record daily activities, progress, and incidents according to organizational and regulatory standards.• Maintain confidentiality of participants’ personal information.4. Team Collaboration:• Communicate regularly with program staff, case managers, and families.• Participate in training, meetings, and professional development opportunities.5.
