Job summary

Lifetime Assistance in LeRoy, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional – Residential to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live with independence and dignity.

As a Full-Time, 40-hour/week role with a rotating evening schedule (Tue, Fri, Sat 1pm-9pm; Wed-Thu 3pm-11pm), you’ll provide personal care, support daily living activities, and help participants participate in community activities. Starting wage is $21.55 per hour.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; dependable, friendly, caring.
• Must meet Vehicle Operator requirements (except overnight/relief shifts).
• First Aid/CPR, SCIP-R, and Medication Administration certification (or ability to obtain).
• Must pass all required background checks and clearances (e.g., SCR, Fingerprinting, SEL, MHL).
• Ability to follow individualized plans and safety protocols.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation in the EHR.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meals, and household tasks such as thorough cleaning.
• Support individuals in developing independence, self-help, and social skills.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals, including medication administration (if certified).
• Implement and document progress on individualized service plans and daily supports.
• Encourage community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
• Drive agency vehicles for transportation as needed.
• Maintain positive, professional communication with individuals, families, and colleagues.
• Complete required training, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
