Job summary

Beacon Specialized Living seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on, person-centered support to individuals with autism and complex needs in a home setting. The role emphasizes engagement, routines, documentation, and teamwork, with medication administration training, transportation, and community support.

The ideal candidate is 18+, has a valid driver’s license and car insurance, and possesses ABA or behavior-based experience, strong communication, and a desire to learn and grow

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Active car insurance in applicant's name.

Responsibilities

• Engage individuals in activities such as music, movement, and interactive play.
• Provide full support with personal care, hygiene, and dressing.
• Assist with feeding and accommodate specialized dietary needs.
• Follow structured routines and visual schedules.
• Support behavior plans using calm, consistent approaches.
• Provide transportation and community support.
• Administer medications (training provided).
• Complete accurate documentation each shift.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and structured home environment.
