Job summary

Chimes is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate, person-centered care in Newark, Delaware. The DSP roles include Day Program, Residential, and Floater positions with duties ranging from assisting with daily living activities to transporting participants and supporting behavioral health goals.

Roles require a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid and Mandt training, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; CPR/First Aid and Mandt or similar crisis intervention training preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required; strong commitment to person-centered support.
• Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to follow care plans and work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and supervision to individuals to ensure safety, engagement, and well-being.
• Assist with personal care tasks including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation.
• Implement and follow individualized care plans to support goals and skill development.
• Administer medications accurately and according to policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow health and safety protocols.
• Foster community integration by facilitating participation in activities and social interactions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, incidents, and reports.
• Communicate with supervisors and external service providers; participate in trainings and meetings.
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
